Amerigo William De Pisapia

Game Systems Designer

Hi, I'm Amerigo, a Game Systems Designer based in Italy. My work focuses on the relationships between mechanics: combat interactions, economies, encounters, UI feedback, and progression structures. Over the last few years I've designed systems for PC, console, mobile, and tabletop titles.

I call my approach holistic because a system never changes alone. A reward tweak changes pacing. A new enemy changes target priority. A UI label changes how quickly players understand a rule. My job is to see those relationships before they become production problems.

Outside of work I'm a massive nerd, which I'd argue is required for anyone in this industry. My hobbies include tabletop games, videogames, drawing poorly, playing guitar, and acting.

I also believe you have to stay a student to stay good at this, so I'm always taking courses in my spare time. Right now I'm working through:

  • The Game Design Systems course from GameDesignSkills.com
  • Unreal Engine's official Game Design course
  • A C++ for Unreal course, so I can build my own tools

I love games and I'd love to bring that into your project. My email is in the footer. Say hi!
